Emerald is the birthstone in May. Its green colour is attractive and reminiscent of vigorous trees, with the meaning of continual growth and life. Since the time of Cleopatra in ancient Greece, the Emerald has always been a gem of noble. From the rich colour on the outside to the so-called gem garden inside, thousands of fascinating natural inclusions symbolize the various energy of nature. The English name of emerald originated from the ancient Persian zǔmǔlǜ, which means green stone. It is better to choose emeralds that are green with blue, clear and bright, and also transparent. The more famous origins are Colombia, Russia, Brazil, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania. There is also a small number of minerals in Zambia. 

As early as 1500 BC, there was emerald mining on the west coast of the Red Sea in Egypt. The famous emerald mine at that time was owned by Cleopatra, who named the mine her name, Alexandria Cleopatra. Generally, the crystals of emeralds are not large, and it is rare to weigh more than 2 carats after cutting. It is a rare treasure if the weight is more than 5 carats. According to the legend, the gold quilt buried with Empress Dowager Cixi in the Qing Dynasty was inlaid with two 80-carat emeralds. It can be seen that no one at all times can resist the charm of emeralds. Since the gemstone held in the hands of the goddess Venus is emerald in the legend, the gem language of emerald is "the key to happiness".
