<Tech Trend>The Combination of AI and IoT – AIoT

hero banner

Both AI and IoT are currently hot technology topics, and the future trend will be a technology that combines the two - AIoT. To put it simply, it is to introduce IoT technology into artificial intelligence, so that the devices that are originally connected to each other have the ability to learn, analyze and make decisions, and bring more convenient life to human beings.

As a successful application of IoT, smart home has brought more convenience to our life after introducing artificial intelligence. As a simple example, when you wake up in the morning, a smart home system can automatically adjust the lights in the room and play your favorite music. When you go out, the system will automatically turn off unnecessary electrical appliances to save energy. And when the system detects that you are about to go home, it will start the air conditioner in advance. These intelligent behaviors are all because the smart home learns your daily habits and automatically adjusts according to your preferences.

If AIoT is applied to enterprises, it will also bring many benefits. It can automate and optimize enterprise processes, realize intelligent monitoring, automatic control and predictive maintenance. For example, AIoT can automatically detect and solve faults on the production line by itself, thereby saving time and cost of manual troubleshooting. In addition, AIoT can extract valuable data from massive data to predict demand, optimize supply chain or improve product design, etc due to the combination of big data analysis and machine learning technology. However, even with such a convenient technology, there are bound to be risks associated with information security. The AIoT system requires a large amount of data collection and sharing, which may contain a lot of personal identity information, location information and even health data, thereby increasing the risk of personal privacy access or utilization. However, many IoT devices in AIoT still have many security loopholes in their implementation. In addition, the system needs to use wireless networks for communication, making the system more likely to become the target of cyber-attacks.

AIoT can indeed bring a lot of benefits to individuals and businesses, and it has gradually become a major trend in the field of technology. But I think that instead of just focusing on how to apply AIoT, it is more worthwhile to discuss how to minimize the risk of information security in terms of equipment security, monitoring and detection, education and training, and even regulations.
