Pairing a burger with wine will leave some people unconvinced that these two classic foods are not in the same category. They don't seem to mix the food on the street and sophisticated items. The burger you're most familiar with is the one with lettuce, tomato, and onion, no cheese, and every bite is a masterpiece.

•Ruby Port on the Rocks：One of the most popular port cocktails

Reason for matching：Traditionally, a burger is served with cola or root beer. Thus, choosing a wine with bitterness and sweet is a nod to the classic brown soda. It's worth noting that all of the wines listed above (except for cocktails) contain far less sugar than a can of coke.

Cheeseburger

Cheddar cheese is added to the base of the classic burger, adding a rich and creamy flavour to the overall look.

Reason for matching：Cheeseburgers are often served with sweetened iced tea. The tannins in iced tea work to cleanse the palate and remove the stickiness of the cheese. The above wines have higher tannins, also tasty flavours (tomatoes, roasted peppers, blackcurrants). This will complement the combination of cheddar and ground beef better.
