<Fossils Talk> The January Birthstone – Garnet
The English name of Garnet is derived from the Latin Granatum, which means seed.
Garnets are a large family with red, dark red, purple, orange, yellow, black and green. Among them, red is the most common, and green is relatively rare.
In the Bohemian Garnet Museum in Europe, there is a red garnet with a history of hundreds of years. It witnessed a period of faithful love - [Marie Imbato's Elegy], and this handed down poem was born because of this. Therefore, garnet is the guardian stone of marriage and love. Its gemstone language is loyalty.
In ancient Egypt and Rome, garnets were also used as amulets. They are believed to bring power and victory to people who are wearing them. Garnets are produced almost all over the world, especially in Germany, where the minerals are the most abundant.
When choosing garnet, the color should be bright and crystal clear. The fewer impurities and cracks, the better. I hope everyone can have an excellent garnet, especially those whose birthdays are in January, find a guardian stone for yourself!
